Advocacy is a critical component to any social issue. Advocates use a set of action items to pass new or amended legislation or policy changes, judicial reform, and monitoring of standards and practices. Advocacy goals are long-term and long-lasting in nature and as such require persistent and sustained support from advocates. Many of the laws and freedoms we enjoy are a result of years (sometimes decades) of advocacy work. The road can be long but the results can change lives and societal norms for the better forever!
